Thermo-mechanical properties and stress-strain curves of ordinary cementitious mortars at elevated temperatures

The mechanical behaviour of three bed-fixing mortars (one reference cement-lime mortar, cube strength ≈ 5 MPa and two cement mortars, 10 15 MPa) is investigated in this project ordinary conditions after being heated to 200, 400 600 °C, up 900 °C evaluate the thermal diffusivity. objectives study are two: (a) extend database on high-temperature cementitious mortars; (b) develop stress–strain relationships as a function temperature, that may be useful formulation macro finite elements for masonry structures. On whole, heat-induced decay agrees with experimental results available literature very similar concrete, far it concerns compressive strength, tensile elastic modulus. Compared concrete at high temperatures, however, mass loss higher, diffusivity always smaller softening branch curves indicates definitely higher ductility. test allow calibrating an analytical law compression. derived from provided by Eurocode 2 but accounting modulus, greater ductility gentler any temperature.
